Need more information regarding the Acer laptop...they have a wide range of models. On the chance its a base model (http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/pd/ThemeID.35703000/productID.306192900/parentCategoryID.66201700), I'd think you could play the SIMS on it's lowest settings.

Price is definitely the greatest issue to adopting OLED displays (both for televisions and monitors). That said, I havent heard of any other technology to come close to OLED's contrast capabilities...and IMO, that is going to keep manufacturers motivation to drive cost down to attainable points...

I would buy a new gaming laptop for around 1200 (MSI and ASUS have some great models). Then spend that difference on a WICKED Desktop Box (4770K+SLI 780). Youll have the best of both worlds.

Yep, the ASUS ROG are great laptops...I really admire their functional design and adequate cooling. Nice to have an 860m in there as well.
