    I can answer my own question, as it has been solved. The bd function apparently needed reconfiguring. I noticed that there was a message to that affect, pushed the little rwd configure button on the remote and now everything is fine again.

    Problems with blu ray player with wi fi that seem to affect streaming and discs.
