In my case plugging in a USB2.0 into a USB3.0 port would cause your symptom randomly in my P55W-C. Try to unplug all devices and see how long the notebook holds without blacking out. This worked for me.

This worked for me: I tried everything under the sun, Device manager's different touchpad drivers from both touchpad manufacturer and from Toshiba site, all combined Fn Function buttons, small buttons, Control panel mouse settings, disconnect battery n power etc, nothing worked for me ... BUT...
