Thank you so much, however, I just tried to connect to a public network and the same problem occurred. Also, I do see the wireless option with the ethernet connection in effect. Also Network and Sharing Center doesn't show me the option to remove the network.

Hi, I am running windows 8.1 64-bit on a Dell Latitude E6410 and connected via ethernet. When I click on my home wifi network it shows that it's been selected but no option appears to join it. I've run troubleshooting for the wireless adapter. Malwarebytes scanning shows nothing. Thanks for any...
