Can you post screenshot? I've Sony, so not familiar with Samsung's Contact view. You can assign photo to contact by using Picture viewer like Gallery, QuickPic, etc. Select photo, tap on options and select set as contact name. This should help.

Connect SD card to PC using Card Reader, format it, not quick format in FAT32 mode. Now insert it in your phone and go to CWM to partition. Remember, don't create more than 2GB ext3 SWAP.

Go to Contacts>Desired Person>Edit>Tap on Photo or Tap and Hold! :bounce: Done!

If possible, remove keyboard from laptop and clean it from both sided. Mine used to be like this. Luckily, HP replaced it!
