Yes, just as a desktop sits on top of your desk. Well, it used to, the old horizontal cases, today cases are put vertically on the desk/next to it/on some stand made for the case/on the floor etc

970 actually has a great price to performance ratio, I'd gladly get it if I had the budget to accomodate it in. That 3.5GB is trully a big problem, but as I see, the card still holds as the king of its price point. Technically, it has 4GB installed but yeah, it's still a problem

Well, we can expect a drop in prices of GPU's when the Radeon R9 3xx series come out. nVidia will drop prices to compete and AMD will drop prices a bit after the release to get rid of older models from their stock.
