Hi, I have a laptop with a dead hdd, it is not appearing on bios either. It is easy to buy new hdd/ssd and replace it, but how would I install new os? I have no recovery cd available. Would it be possible to simply get an open source os cd and do it that way? Any help is much appreciated...
