I just got off the phone with Samsung tech support They told me they have an outage and the enginers are working on developing a permanent fix. IN the mean time he told me to do the following.
Go to menu; smarthub; reset smarthub; unplug tv for 1 minute;

To the people who are unable to unplug the TV because of its location--
you may want to turn off the circuit breaker. As a last resort you may want to throw the main circuit breaker. Needless you say you will have reset all of your clocks etc but at least you will be able to watch TV.
