That's cause Linux and stuff ain't that common hardly anyone uses em if your a gamer ext windows has the best O's supported games and software

Idea say all drivers look on the manufacture website for your model laptop and try all the drivers for Windows 32 bit if it's 32 bit 64 if 64 bit.

yeah fan spinning at full speed to try to get rid of the heat ide check to see if ya can get to the fans from the bottom just to clean em if ya got any removeable covers on the bottom if not cooling correctly could cuase damge from heat

or ya can flat out uninstall the device in the device manager and restart and recheck to se if the device reinstalled or manualy scan for hardare changes. also look for a updated spound driver on your mother board sound card or computer manufactures web site

accidents happen coulda miss looked when was researching the model number he gave

may have miss looked but when check that model number showed as a laptop

if don't show their find the device manager and do the same thing show hidden devices and renable them

never have more then one antivirus program installed they can cuase a software conflict on each other and cuase both not to work . what version of windows or os ya running ectt. they are some good passive scanner out there for adware only and ya have to do manual scans like sbybot search and...

and the bad part most laptops don't have easy acces to the fans to clean them ect or to reapply thermal paste to the heatsinks in some cases ya got to pull the think appart to get to em and clean em ect... or replace em

problly need to clean the fans and or lint the can collect between the heat ppipe venting and the fan fan could be going bad and need a new one.

only way to get a bios updatre is on the Toshiba support site if they released any it not like a self built tower where asus asrock or msi or gigabyte actually release bios updates often

as for performance boost your already runign 1600 MHz ram but you wouldn't see a performance boost usless your were actually using all your memory . then it would of been using your ssd or hdd as virtual memory .
