    Short answer is : yes. 16gb of ram and GTX965M should be more than enough to roam fluidly through Maya, Mudbox, Memento or 3ds max. I'd suggest you to get one with the internal SSD option. Install your OS and modelling programs on it.

    Right now, I am using Avast at the moment, but it feels a bit intrusive compared to Bitdefender. I might switch back to Bitdefender once they fix the exception feature.

    Avast offers a mediocre free product trial, but if you're willing to pay, it's a very complete antivirus. Bitdefender would be the best free antivirus IMO. Non-intrusive and yet powerfull. The free version lacks in features, but that's the point i guess.

    I've done 3d rendering for 14 hours straight using coca cola cans and room fan as heat spreader many times and the laptop would become VERY hot. The macbook is still doing good as my cpu never reached 70C. As long as the exhaust slots (under the screen hinges) are not stuck with dust, you should...
