Try the fifine k669, I had sames concerns as you have, i wanted to get a mic that can record my voice in a basic way without it being too low in terms of sound catching dB and the fifine does the job pretty well but the mic has some direction issues so when you get it fiddle with the placement...

Its time to get a new one.

Can you mention your budget so we can suggest according to that? Though I'm using Corsair HS50 which I got for 50 bucks and I'm very happy for the price I paid.

Have you made your headset mic as Default device in recording? What headset you're using?

Used friend's Sennheiser HD 598 CS on my sound blaster sound card and I must say I was really impressed by it. Have used Siberia 650 too but they are not that good. Haven't used A900x or Beyerdynamic so cant really tell about these two.
