    17 seconds isn't too bad for starting up Photoshop, I think your problem might just be that laptop is not fast enough. I wouldn't worry too much though.

    A good gaming laptop under $680

    Ok I'm not trying to be rude but to play those games on medium at 45 fps your will need to drop about $1100-1200 on a desktop to play games like Crysis 3 and Far Cry 3 especially.
