Why not just buy an ipad? It's the same price, got a heck of a lot more apps, and the screen is twice as big (square inch-wise).

I'm not sure about the MacBook Air costing $3000. The MacBook Air costs $1800 for the base model and $2500 with the upgraded processor and 128GB SSD. (You can get a refurbished one from Apple for $1000.) The MBA is a fantastic ultraportable laptop.

I notice he doesn't talk about MS's iPod or iphone competitors, how the search business is doing compared to Google, or how IE is losing marketshare to FireFox. MS just simply can't compete beyond the Windows/Office "monopoly." Ballmer, worry about your other products before you start bashing...

Microsoft is rotting from the top down. MS simply can't grow any larger without bringing in new blood or coming up with new technologies beyond Windows. They simply can't dominate outside of the Windows/Office space.

This drive will actually only be useful for data storage. MacOSX doesn't support watching BluRay movies, yet. I don't think there are any 3rd-party solutions, either. Roxio Toast 9 does support creating your own BR movies.

Marketing 101: If you are the big guy in the industry, you don't talk about the little guy. It only serves to lend credibility to the little guy. There's a reason why you NEVER see pepsi mentioned in a Coca-Cola ad. If MS thinks it has a great product, then talk about all the great features...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that RIM is a Canadian company. I comment McCain for his service and sacrifice to his country. As for not being able to raise his hands to use a computer, I'm not sure that argument flies in the face of photography...

I don't see this defense working. Apple has the copyright to OSX, and they can choose to license it to whoever they want. Just because MS has liberal licensing terms with Windows doesn't mean Apple has to have them.

There's still a scarcity now. In the year and a half it's has been out, I've only seen them available in the local stores once. I'm not expecting that to change during the holidays.

Missed it by THAT much. Gartner predicted 1.4 million units and it turns out Apple shipped 2.5million units in the last quarter for an increase in unit growth of 41%. Apple also shipped 11million iPods for 12% unit growth. Apple made $1 billion in profit on sales of $7.5 billion. Not a bad...
