Yeah, that doesn't happen to me. I use the onboard Intel 540 with a skylake i5 and gigabyte z170 MB. Why do you recon that I can't get it to recognise dts/DD etc? Could it be that the MB is hdmi 2.0 and onkyo 1.3?

Yeah, mine supports them all too, I've got an Onkyo TX-SR605 My question is more that, when you do that with your system, does the DTS/DD/DD-HD light up on your recievers OSD? Mine just sticks with Multichannel.

So. After building a new htpc my receiver chooses multichannel pcm on a surround test file that should be DTS/DD. Now I understand that multichannel is better, but since the files are like 30 sec long, and around 10-30MB each, it feels lime it's too small to contain uncompressed sound. Now...
