Thanks for pointing out the shortcomings in my initial entry. I am using MS Word 2013. I believe I may have solved the issue of having spellcheck work in English for the first line of each paragraph and work in French for subsequent lines in each paragraph by setting up two different styles...

Would like to have spellcheck work in English for the first line of each paragraph but work in French for the subsequent lines in each paragraph.
