battery terminals

The battery to my laptop's stopped working, so I took it out. I'm using the laptop now on AC and it's working great- however, I feel slightly worried that the battery's terminals are exposed (those gold thingies?). How can I cover them up? Can I simply wrap electrical tape around them? Will...
