laptops toshiba

My laptop keeps getting a solid blue screen and I can't get to the BIOS or safe mode (pressing keys does nothing), but occasionally it'll start up ok, then next time blue screen again. It doesn't seem like anything is loose so I'm not sure how to diagnose if it's a hardware or software issue...
