mic problem

I have an Alienware M17 R5 AMD. The built-in microphone works pretty fine. However, when I use my external earphone (which comes with a mic), the earphone speaker works fine, but the "jack mic" does not work. The jack mic is visible when I switch "Headphones" to "Headset (with microphone)" in...

I cant click on analog button on realtek manager... whenever i click on analog it takes me to the speakers tab... i need it to change to headset so that i can use my earphone mic.. help.

I have had this headset (Game One) for About 5 months about 2-3 months ago my mic has had this loud, annoying static out of nowhere. I downloaded Realtek drivers and if I turn on Echo-Cancellation the static is gone, but my voice becomes to quiet to hear. Hopefully I can fix this.
