    connect an acer laptop to a mac display

    I have a Mac 25" cinema display which I bought to use with a Mac book pro (works great). I now also have an Acer laptop with a CAD package and would like to use the big screen with it for CAD drawing. I bought a female DVI-I to male VGA adaptor form Maplin which connect the two but no picture...
