Secondary

I want to install a second HDD in my laptop. It has 1 HDD and 1 Optical Drive installed. I have opened it up and it uses the 'laptop SATA' connectors to connect both the HDD and Optical Drive to the motherboard. Can I replace the optical drive with a secondary HDD safely? And if so, how do I go...
