10/100 ethernet vs 10/100/1000

I am getting the asus g50vt x5 gaming laptop

and im going to be using it for online gaming such as tf2 and stuff...
the thing that stops me is the 10/100 mbps on the laptop not 10/100/1000....is this going to give me higher levels of ping.

Gigabit ethernet doesn't play a role in how fast your internet connection is. Your internet connection is probably slower than 10mpbs, so don't worry.
