I'm looking at getting one of two laptops; the specs are the exact same except for the screen size. I have a 17" Full HD screen on my Acer Aspire V3-772G-7448, and I like the screen size.

One of the screens is a 17.3” Full HD (1920x1080) LED-Backlit Display with Matte Finished Surface.

The other screen can be a 1080p, but there are also two other options: 15.6” 4K QFHD 16:9 Wide screen (3840x2160) ) SAMSUNG Display Super Clear Gloss Type ($150), and 15.6” 4K QFHD 16:9 Wide screen (3840x2160) ) Sharp IGZO Super Clear Gloss Type ($275).

So the question comes down to, should I get the 15" UHD 4k laptop, or the 17" Full HD 1080p screen? I'd be getting the 980m 8gb GDDR5. The highest taxing game I own would either be Shadow of Mordor or Crysis 3.

Here are the links for the laptops.

hello there 3k and 4k displays will always look better than traditional lcd or TN panels but if u have to spend more for just a display is it really worth it? plus you need to look at the display coating gloss display coatings show way more glare and reflections as opposed to displays with a matte finish. hope this helps

Will 4k practical on a small 15" screen?

I forgot about the gloss glare. This student I helped in my Java programming class had an Alienware laptop with a glossy screen and the glare was terrible, even at full brightness. I prefer 17" screens, but there aren't any 17" 4k screens for this brand of laptop.

What do you mean by compatible?

Would it be possible to buy an Asus ROG G751 4k monitor and switch it with the Sager if possible? I like the idea of having a 4k display, but I love the screen real estate a 17" screen gives you.

[EDIT] The article I read on the Asus ROG was misleading. It comes with HDMI 1.4, which supports 4k.
