You mention all these iPhone Halloween apps, but the Android phones have most of the same Halloween apps. Not only that, but Android also offers several Halloween THEMES!!! I think a Halloween theme makes a lot more sense on this list than some ridiculous jumping game with a Halloween makeover.

Tom's Hardware/Guides is supposed to be up to date with modern tech. When am I going to start seeing some consideration for things other than the iPhone!!!!!!1111one

Quantumrand--
What do you think of the idea that journalists tend to give coverage to companies based on their marketshare? Perhaps you think that is wrong. You are entitled to that opinion. The way I see it right now is this: Apple has a larger share of the smartphone market in the U.S. than Android platform--the amount of coverage should therefor be proportionate.

There are so many apps in the iTunes store, so we feel that sometimes, especially surrounding minor events like halloween, not everybody would know that there were new specialty apps for those events. I didn't know about these before I read the article, and I doubt most other iphone owners did either. And of course you are entitled to your opinion that these apps are silly--they are!--but they are also fun.

With the exception of the clever and the deer-head werewolf costume, most of this stuff is pretty lame.

Is it me or does it seem like Halloween is slowly fading away? I remember even 10 years ago, Halloween was a really big deal. Lots of people in costumes, lots of yards decorated, trick-or-treaters by hundreds! This year, even with Halloween on a Saturday, it was pretty lack-luster. Few, if any, houses decorated (almost none are seriously decorated). Many houses not even participating. Not much on TV in the way of Halloween specials (other than the tired re-runs of years long past). It's really pretty sad.
