2.2GHz AMD A8-7410

It has the, 2.2GHz AMD A8-7410, in it with 4gig of DDR3L. At 720P, will it be able to play minecraft? He owns minecraft for the PS4, so it won't be a big deal. He is 5yrs old and mainly likes roblox on the laptop.

Yes it can the game alright, but I recommend you return it for a refund. The following Acer laptop with a Core i3-7100u and integrated Intel HD 620 graphic core for $350 is better than that laptop from Bestbuy. It will not run the game as well as a laptop with a dedicated graphics chip, but it will perform much better than the AMD A8-7410 and its Radeon R5 (Beema) graphics core. I recommend you install an additional 4GB of RAM to improve overall performance. Having two sticks of RAM will also improve game performance by roughly 10% - 15% depending on the game.

The following video demonstrates Minecraft being played on an Acer Aspire E5-522-83H8 with the AMD A8 7410 which has a 1366x768 resolution screen. There is no frame rate counter, though the person states 30 - 50 FPS. I do not know what graphic settings are being used, but at lower resolution the AMD A8-7410 is getting lower performance compared to the Intel Core i3-7100u which is running the game at 1080p resolution.

Well this laptop is his favorite color, red; and, I already gave it to him when I posted this. So far he has only used it for roblox and bluestacks; which, is an app that lets him play google play games. I upgraded the HDD to a 120GB SSD and so far we have had no issues. I will upgrade the ram to 8gb if he gets into more demanding stuff. He is just happy to have something that lets him play robloxs and other games on the go. Plus, this laptop is really helping get him into the mindset of, 'I got to learn to read!'
