Title pretty much describes it. I just bought a Vive and I have a 960 4gb, I want to know if it is worth buying another one of those and running them in SLI or just buying a 1060 for VR

Solution
Go with the 1060 6GB. It is vastly superior to dual 960 SLIs, plus you will be able to sell your 960 and get a 1060 for a reduced price. Or you can get a 1070 if budget allows. Its entirely up to you, just don't go 960 SLI, thats for sure. SLI is unsupported by some games and may give you problems in the future.

1060 sli can't beat a 1080 when 1060 can't sli. Explicit multi adapter will not gain support even more so than sli/cf. The list of games that support sli is short and even shorter for vr. It's not worth doing. Most people don't sli/cf so devs have always had little incentive to support it.

Interesting. I read a review claiming that it was possible. I guess that was fake. You learn something new everyday. Thank you guys for informing me of this. I’ll edit my original response.
