3.5mm head jack problem in lenovo G570 laptop

Hi, The problem that I am facing in my laptop is audio not audible while playing through 3.5mm head jack but it is good and normal while playing through inbuilt speaker. Does the problem is with hardware or software?

I believe most laptops/computers have a 2.5mm jack because it audio and mic are separate connections. Cell phones use 3.5mm. You might be noticing the 3.5 doesn't quite fit in all the way.
