Hello,

I've been looking EVERYWHERE for a laptop that has: a 17 or 17+ inch 3d display; SLI nvidia 560's. Every SLI configuration seems to only have regular display options, and every 3d laptop seems to have only single-card configurations. I'm hoping to do it for under $3000, but I'm flexible. Help!

Thanks so much, guys. yeah, those were pretty much all the places I've looked, though I don't know that I had caught that particular Clevo (p170). I was hoping to go SLI 560s for the better bang for the buck, as opposed to the solitary 580, but I guess with a laptop I should be grateful to pull off 3d and a top-end card at all. And does SLI on a laptop create weight/bulk issues anyway?

I also should have mentioned that I kind of wanted to avoid clevo/sager, since my last computer was a Sager and I had a bunch of overheating problems (Geforce 9600 got HOT) and the battery shorted out beyond repair. I went directly through Sager, though... not the best customer service. But maybe someone can suggest an outside sager retailer/distributor with better customer service and support? Are xoticpc and cyberpowerpc better with this sort of thing? I'd be open to trying a clevo/sager again if I knew I could get decent service if there are problems.

So what I'm gathering here is that it's pretty much Clevo or Dell, right? It's funny, I found my Sager way too plain, and Alienware way too gaudy :p though AW isn't as bad as they used to be, but I still can't get around the "alien" on my computer... it's just always bugged me that it associates computer/gaming nerds with Roswell/conpiracy/alien abduction wackos, a camp I'm VERY much not a part of :p If it were Spock I'd be fine with it :)

Thanks so much, your advice has been super-helpful! Advice on distributors is very much appreciated.
