I have a second sky box with a Scart lead to one of the tvs so I can change the source to a different channel on this TV could this be having an affect when only watching other sky box on all 4 screens

Solution
I doubt that one skybox could affect the other.
Sounds like the HDMI distribution box you are using isn't up to the job. The cables could also be an issue. You may have noticed that the price of HDMI distribution amps has a huge range. There is a reason that some of them are expensive. They work more often and exhibit fewer issues. When you switch to a display it should not require a reset. A blank picture on all the TVs for a second or two wouldn't be unusual.

It is a satellite box I have an hdmi outputs from the sky box feeding a 4 way splitter this then sends signals to 3 tvs and one projector I have to have all I want to watch on to get a signal to them all.say if I only turn two tvs on then I decide I want another tv or projector when I put them on it says no signal I have to turn splitter on and off to get them all on.then every now and then they go off and won't come on till splitter is reset.very annoying in the middle of a game. Also I have another sky box with a Scart output to one of the tvs this is so I can change the source and use this satellite box to watch another channel
