5.1 upgrade from Creative T40 Gigaworks

I'm looking for a good 5.1 surround upgrade for my PC set-up.

Currently I have the Creative T40 Gigaworks, which I bought quite a few years ago now, and they're still pricey speakers and holding their value.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

did you want to stay with pc speakers or are you ready to step into home theater speakers?

for $250 you can get a logitech z906 5.1 set. its not quite as good as the z5500 which was considered the best choice available however the z5500 is discontinued and can be hard to get for a reasonable price (lowest i could easily find for brand new was $500).

for about $450-500 you could step into a home theater speaker set like the energy take 5.1 classic which has 5 speakers and a subwoofer for $350. you would then need to pick up either a receiver or an amplifier.
