I didn't realize how serious Lyme is until my grown son got it last year. He spent a month in the hospital, in and out of consciousness (mostly out), and with multiple problems including joint pain, "bruised" kidneys, fracture wrist, pneumonia, delirium, anemia, change in taste, weight loss (100 lbs!), and emergency surgery for a knee infection. All from Lyme disease. Now I'm afraid to step foot in my own yard (which is most likely where he got bit). I'll try out some of these ideas. Thanks!

Woodpiles for mice is literally the dumbest idea ever. You will still have ticks and mice will be chewing up your home. Not to mention diseases that rats carry. Bird houses and feeders to attract chickadees among other carnivorous birds is a much more attractive option. An army of chickadees will keep the pest at bay by using them as treats to munch on. Chickens and especially guinea fowl love eating the annoying little pest as well.
