So i got this tv and was told it shuts off once in a while on its own. For about a week i had no problem with it. Then finally it shut off after about an hour of watching it, no reponse with the remote of the power button on the tv i had to unplug it and plug it back in then it turn itself back on.

NS-55L260A13 Is the model number. The shutting off is totally random, sometimes it lasts an hour sometimes 4 hours, sometimes all night. I think it has to do with how long I keep it unplugged and let the built up power drain? I see no problems with the capacitors, but I know that doesn't mean there is none bad. But I did check.

The led is red when the TV is off, it blinks a bunch or times when I turn it on, once on there is no led lit. (is that normal?) when the tv shuts off on it's own there is still no led lit. So the tv is actually still on? Just frozen?

I had a similar problem with my TV. It was a faulty internal board. Warranty tech came to my house and fixed it. Has been working for years since with no issues.
If it's under warranty I highly suggest you call the manufacturer (even if you are not the original owner).

If not... well.. it might still be worth replacing the internal circuits so see if that resolves the issue.

I wasn't watching closely. But to me it all looked like 1 large board. I don't remember seeing a separate powerboard.

Also, it's worth noting that my TV is a Dynex (the other brand exclusive to best buy) and that mine was under warranty so they just sent out a geek squad technician.

Since it's been fixed, I haven't had anymore issues.
