$600 Laptop for College Student

My boss has asked me to find a laptop/ultrabook for a student who he and his wife are sponsoring for college supplies. They budget is $600 tops. He has to have Windows 7.

I don't know much, but I know enough that going to Best Buy or some other store is going to end up with the kid being cheated. I've used ASUS products exclusively for years, so I'm not up on what else is out there.

Any thoughts or help will be greatly appreciated.

check out newegg.com for some good deals and type in your price range. look for either and n i3 I5 or one of the a8 or a10 amd apus with a decent 7200rpm hdd. its getting hard to find new laptops without windows 8 on them tho

Thanks for the reply! I will check them out right now. I'm realizing the Windows 7 thing is going to be tricky.
