I am thinking of building a gaming pc but only for games like gmod , rust and other steam games . For now I was thinking of getting an i3 4150 and getting a low cost gpu ( thinking of getting the gtx 630 2gb from my friend) . I was gonna get 8gb ram a z97 mobo and 500w psu. I am thinking of getting the z97 mobo as I plan to upgrade the cpu to an i5 4690k and gtx 970 next year. Will an i3 and gtx 630 run rust and gmod or should I buy a mid range laptop for now and save the money and buy an i5 and gtx 970 next year. Any suggestions pls?? Tks

I could make you a way better 650$ budget pc, The link on pcpartpicker is http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QpjPWZ

I would reccommend this build over yours, it is about 3x better for those kind of games if you want good fps. The specs are

AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
LG GH24NSC0B DVD/CD Writer
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card
Windows 8.1 OEM (64-32 Bit)

By the way, yes your build would be able to run those games but not as quickly as the build i showed, Your build also wouldnt be very future proof for games. Although the build i put together, is 16$ over budget if thats ok

good build but if you really want an i5 later get the anniversary edition pentium G its able to overclock and kills the i3 and is cheaper and get the 280x now. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QvKFnQ comes in at 635
