Solved! "A" Key gets stuck

If I hold down on the "A" key on my laptop for any amount of time it stays activated for a bit longer. For example, if I went into notepad and held down the key until 20 a's were on the screen then let go, it would continue and put 5-10 more a's. If I hold it down in a game to move a direction, it continues to move me in that direction after I let go. It doesn't stay pushed down on the keyboard though, it springs back up like any other key. It's a pretty bothersome problem and if anybody had a fix I would be glad to know. (It's only the "A" key.)

OS: Windows 8.1

use a knife to gently pop the key off and clean it.
