Panda is full of false positives...

Your OP seem to describe Eset pretty well. http://www.eset.com/us/home/windows-antivirus/

http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php Eset rated the best in performance impact.

actually i tried going with the anda global protection trial version to give it a try but it seem to be hogging the system preety damn much.....so i decided to uninstall it and try out Iobit advanced systemcare ultimate with iobit malware fighter(planning to get pro, if things go well),,,,,,my system is running okay but i don't know if it is well protected or not.....
and i am a newbie here so i pretty much believe everything everyone says... :D

Majority prefer Eset, so try that antivirus known to be extremely light and stable.

http://www.eset.com/us/download/free-trial
Only the ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus are the home users. They all offer 30 days free trials.

The smart security is their premium that include firewall. I would recommend NOD32 though especially in a the $20 price difference on their website as I don't think the extra features add much extra security. Amazon does offer premium 1 user for $30 along with other Eset products. I believe Eset 2014 key also work for their 2015 version so you may try that to save more money (Eset offer free product year version upgrade anyway).

Eset Smart Securiy 2015 1 user as of this post priced at $32.50 + shipping.

Not base on actual customers reviews. People in this forum will be more bias on Bitdefender because of its positive review on Tom's Hardware. Bitdefender does really well on antivirus test, better than Eset and marginally better than Kaspersky, but the program is unstable on some people computers and their auto-renew feature has been reported to still bill people after they cancel their plan. I recommend Kaspersky if your looking for Bitdefender's type of anti-virus.

You can use their 30 days free trial if you want to use that to make sure it run fine on your computer. They also offer a free version.
