Just claimed on the insurance and hoping to get around £450 for a laptop replacement.

Thought about this dual graphics combo. 7620G/8670m Trinity A10 Quad core 2ghz.
Would it fit my needs or are their better alternatives?.

I would like a laptop that can handle the following games on low settings and get high frame rates without the laptop overheating or turning on its fan.

The type of games I would like the laptop to handle would be:

*World of Warcraft.
*Starcraft 2.
*World of Tanks.

And it would make my day if I could run Planet Side 2.without lag.

I plan having the laptop sat in the laptop dock most of the time. Using its screen for things like teamspeak/mumble.

Occasionally I would like to take it outside so 4-6 hours of battery life on low power mode is something I prefer. My old laptop was a ultra-book.

Thanks.

Well I can tell you right now that you won't be able to game without the fan turning on. And as for those games you listed, it seems like it would work. But let me warn you, as a user of dual graphics, there is limited compatibility with games and the performance isn't always great. I don't know about any other alternatives but you might be able to find something better.

Is there a game list for dual graphics? I built a SLI machine when they 1st came out and there was issues so I can understand that.

What kind of FPS do you get on the games you play?

Well I haven't been able to find a compatibility list from Googling. But as far as my fps, it is generally pretty good. Games like Skyrim seem to benefit largely from dual graphics, giving me 30-70 fps. I think this laptop would be good for your needs but I doubt it will perform well in Planetside 2.

Well PS2 is resource hungry. I've considered going for a 740m paired with an I5. I might just be able to squeeze for that set up.

I know a I5 3rd Gen can wipe the floor with a A10.
However how does a 740m compare with a dual graphics 7620G/8670m.

Done any research?

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GT+740M. http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7620G+%2B+8670M+Dual&id=2765. I think we have found your best bet. According to these benchmarks, the 740m performs significantly better.

I forgot about that website. Cheers.

In Europe a dual graphics set up laptop costs £440 while a 740m laptop costs around £530. Depends what Voucher/Cash back/Sales multiples I can find.

I was going to get a A10 Kaveri + Radeon 7750 set up for desktop. Apparently someone got them to work together over at a company called VIBOX. Some pretty insane frame rates on medium-high settings.

Still haven't given up on AMD. Just want a laptop because they are easier to insure for accidental damage.

Just thought I'd ask. Can the dual graphics support 2-3 monitors?
