Hello,

I am pretty much ripping my hair out trying to decide which laptop to get.

I know that the i5 is the fastest here, and has the highest benchmark, but I am also a medium gamer. I want to play APB, NFSW, MapleStory, DragonNest, Battlefield Play4Free etc. I also know that the the HD 4000 is about on par with the 7520g. But what about the 7640g that A8 has? Will it lose miserably to it? Also the i5 is only dual core, so will it lose to the A8 when playing APB, which loves to hate dual core systems? I want to play these games at 1366x768 with around med settings.

What about the A6? Is it worth to save 30 bucks and get that instead of the A8? Or the i5?

Please help, I am so confused... :( :( :(

Its really down to the i5 and the A8.

The i5 is dual core but has hyper threading. SO it has 4 cores per se.

The 7640g is a better integrated gpu, but neither will allow you to do any serious gaming. Maybe at medium/low resolutions.

Thanks for the reply. But should I spend an extra 50 bucks and get the i5? I feel like I will lose the ability to game at medium settings, but if I go with the A8, will I be sacrificing CPU power too much? Based on the games I am playing, do you think the i5 or A8 will suit me better?

HD 4000 actually varies in speed. The graphics coming with high end i7s are as fast as HD 6620g. The ones with i5 are same as or slower than 6620g. 7640g is much faster than 6620g.

Intels got really bad drivers, even if it si performing at the same fps. AMD's gameplay will be smoother due to less frame latency.

So, A8 is the way to go for gaming. i5 is the way to go for cpu intensive stuff

Actually the 6620g outperforms the 7640g. And there is no such thing as " The graphics coming with high end i7s are as fast as HD 6620g. The ones with i5 are same as or slower than 6620g." Not sure where you got that from, but it is false.

But what about performance when I'm not gaming? In the long run, which would be better?
