AC power plug into DC laptop socket.

Dear all

Toshiba Laptop Satellite pro 850

I have inadvertently inserted a 16v AC power plug in my Laptop DC 19v socket. It worked for few mins but not charging. Now it has powered off completely. I have tried to use the laptop with the correct charger without the battery,. Still does not work. I cannot see any power light.

I am just wondering if anyone can advise me if it is worth repairing or the motherboard might have blown.

You fried the motherboard.

That was too low of a voltage on the adapter. You may have damaged the circuitry. The board would probably need to be replaced rather than repaired if it is damaged.
