So, long story short a friend of mine had an Acer 5051 AWXMi with a broken screen. The broken screen was a LP141WX1(TL)(A2) and i managed to find a few on ebay for 53€ but on a local sales list i found one cheaper at 40€ that the stupid seller said it was that exact reference.

Well, when it arrived today it was a B141EW01 from AU Optronics. I decided to plug it in to see if it worked nevertheless and its dimmed out as if the inverter is screwed (the inverter is the one used for the LP141WX1(TL)(A2)). My question is: if the seller sends me the inverter of the B141EW01 will it work?

Perhaps i should point out that the original inverter is fine. If i plug the LP141WX1(TL)(A2) the lamp comes on as normal, it's just the screen that is broken.

When i plug in the B141EW01 data is on screen but dim and the CCFL doesn't turn on. Could it be that the inverter for the LP141WX1(TL)(A2) outputs less voltage and therefore not sufficient for the CCFL of the B141EW01 to come on?

Thanks Brett! What numbers on what white sticker are you refering to?

Hi :)

The white sticker on the BACK of each screen....they BOTH must have EXACTLY the same numbers and letters...

BOTH old and new replacement screens...

All the best Brett :)

Should do.

Based on this Ebay listing they should be interchangable:

Hi :)

Sorry but that's TOTAL rubbish ..by a SELLER...

My company changes HUNDREDS of screens a month...

We NEVER EVER use compatibles or so called Generic screens, we learned long ago, if you want it to work....you buy the CORRECT screen ONLY...

All the best Brett :)

He already has the screen might as well have the seller send the correct inverter, if it works it works, if not he can send it all back for the correct screen.

Yap. I'll order the exact same part no. That was what i thought i was doing anyway if that stupid seller didn't fooled me. Now to return it will be another war...

Do you guys know if the letters and numbers in parenthesis following the part no. are of any relevance when buying a replacement screen? Will ANY LP141WX1 work or does it has to have the exact same letters and numbers in parenthesis? In this case (TL)(A2).

Thanks everyone!

And from what i read online about compatibilities i came to the exact same conclusion as nnorton44. To avoid returning the lcd i thought about asking the seller for the inverter to see if it could help. But i think it's safer just to order the same part no. from a respectable and responsible seller who knows what he's doing.
