acer aspire 5538 has black screen

My acer aspire has a black screen on power up. The light on the front does not come on to show charging until after the power button is pushed on. Push the power button the light in front and the power button light comes on, the fan starts to turns and it acts like it's going to come, then everything's quiet and......nothing? Can anybody help?

well try connecting it to an external monitor if it works...then the LCD/LED is busted...

Check first if connecting external monitor works. If not, your graphics card is kaput.
If you direct a flashlight on the monitor, is anything visible? If yes, then it's the LCD screen inverter.
If not, you have a simmilar problem than I do. I just bought a new LCD screen and same as before; nothing, no picture, no backlight, nothing. With external monitor it works great..
If the problem is LVDS cable, picture should be garbeled, but not nonexisting?
Any ideas?
