Acer aspire 5710 audio jack not working

HI EVERYONE,

I am looking 4 assistance, can anyone advise what to if audio jack not working when speakers or headphones are inserted yet the sound comes out from internal speakers even if headphones are inserted. plz help!

you may actually have a bad jack, you can try cleaning it, directions for cleaning are posted in this forum, first post on top.
there is no guarantee that cleaning it will fix the problem.
maybe you are plugging into the wrong jack? just checking.
sometimes the jack gets damaged or worn out, and a tech can solder a new one onto the motherboard. This is not a self service job.
