I'm having issues with my Acer Aspire V3-771g battery. When plugged in it will not go above roughly 40% battery. I tried turning it completely off and leaving it plugged in for 4+ hours and it still remains around that level. However even when it says it has 40% when I unplug it it shuts off immediately. The issue started after I had accidentally left it in sleep mode on a Friday morning and went on a trip from Chicago to Florida. I did end up not using it while I was on the trip and returned on Monday morning (roughly 72 hours without using it). I've read other forums about fully discharging and recharging but that doesn't seem to be applicable since it powers off immediately at 40%. I'm guessing that the battery is fried and I'll need a new one but am wondering if anybody has any suggestions on something I can do and/or why this is happening. The laptop is about 1.5 years old but has been able to hold a charge and fully discharge/charge up until my trip.
