Acer aspire E14 cannot open apps

Hi , when I open my Acer aspire E14 , Windows 10, it says "scanning and repairing disc C" and sometimes "scanning disc problems. This might take over an hour" . but this takes 8-10 hours before my laptop will open. And if it opened, I cannot open any application or software. All I can open is the folders , even Microsoft word won't open. Pls help me

Sounds like your hard drive is bad, replace it and install Windows on the new drive.

No way to know exactly what caused it to fail. By change it meaning make sure next one is OK? Not much you can do aside from making sure you don't yank the laptop around while it's running. Sudden movements and shocks can cause issues with standard drives. Solid States are a lot better with that.
