hi, im trying to fix a laptop the original problem was that the boot mgr was missing and upon start up it would just give that error message. i turned the laptop off and now when it boots to the logo screen for acer and try to access the bios it would freeze and sit there. only the escape key works, and it backs out of the OS and gives me a black screen with the underscore, after that nothing works. any help?

"Problem is - laptops aren't very repairable" they are the same has motherboard in a desktop.

To the OP, try booting in safe mode, if it's successful, you can try to repair.

update: i left the laptop on for a while and a screen poped up prompting me to insert a boot media. Does this mean that i can try to install a new os or repair it with a boot media usb?
