Solved! Acer laptop model 5552 display keeps going blank when idle after a few minutes

Acer laptop running windows 7 - installed a windows 7 desktop theme and now the monitor keeps going blank when the laptop is idle for about 5 minutes as if it has been set to hibernate or sleep, but I have it set to never hibernate or sleep. It will come right back on when I move the mouse as if it is waking up and it will stay on as long as I am using the laptop but after about 5 minutes of being idle it goes right back off.

Do you know if there is another setting I need to change or should I restore it back to the way it was before adding the desktop theme?

check your screen saver setting first
next check your power settings/advanced for display settings
