acer laptop nonstarter

I need help my acer aspire won't start up it let's me put in password then goes to blank screen all I see is my mouse but when my mcafee needs attention that shows up but everything else stays blank

Sounds like a corrupt Windows installation.

Try booting into Safe Mode. If that works, go to an earlier Restore Point, and run Antivirus and Antispyware software.

If that does not work, would reinstall Wimdows, but you will lose all your data.
