Acer pentium problem

I have a pentium Acer. I can open it but all i can see is my picture as my background. I can use the mouse but I can't see any menu option. What should I do?

Are you connected to a second monitor? Did anything happen before this issue started? Can you try hitting F8 at start up and select Safe Mode, does that get you the icons? Actual model of the system would help also, "pentium" is just the brand of the CPU inside it.
