Acronis True Image 8.0

Win XP/SP3 Current Updates - 1GB Ram
All functions work Acronis True Image 8.0 except Explore an Image.
Freezes the system at window "Assigning Drive letter"
Even with task manager, cannot shutdown. Have to power down.
Did a fresh install, with no errors. Event viewer shows nothing.

Works fine on other Unit, which has less Ram, XP home edition.

No responses from Acronis Forum, probably because my version is
so old, so not really expecting one here either ! :lol:

@Nikorr: 2004 sounds about right, maybe even earlier. Incidentially, I just reread my original post. It should have said the problem is on XP/Pro, but on XP Home it works fine.

Both Versions XP/Pro and XP Home are SP3 and current on Updates.
I also use Secunia PSI to keep other software updated.
Both are DELL PCs and pretty much running same software. I just recently inherited the DELL Optiplex (XP/PRO), and installed Acronis, and that is when I noticed the hanging problem. When I get a bigger Pen Drive capacity, I will copy a backup and put on the other machine to see how it functions.

No, both machines are IDE.
