like if they can run any recent games or even older ones? or if there's anywhere else I'd get a better deal? I'd really appreciate help asap, as I'm trying to get this done before Christmas! thanks in advance.

I have to say I recommend searching new egg here, this site has a ton of great computers made by all different kind of manufacturers, way better then the stock lads. You can also check oput these custom gaming laptops know as the Sager laptop, this company makes custom built gaming laptops. Im not going to lie to you though. Most gaming laptops cost alot :)

Make me proud and pick a great one.

The 3d mark scored on that gpu in the rog, the 460m, it's not a good gpu. It benches 1623 on the bench, while the o e I linked for 1000 features the gtx 860m which direct x 11 3d marks 23,220 vs 1632.

The 460m would be useful with just oldergames, games that use directx9. You want one that's dx12 or 12. And the dx 11 benches comparison is a whopping 20x more performance
