alien 17x mid 2009 model graphics/fps lag

My laptop suddenly became laggy and takes quite a long time to respond to any action. Its more smoother when i run it on save power mode then it should be on boost performance? does anyone know the problem, it was working fine just yesterday.

Sounds to be a heat issue. I'd suspect that your vents are blocked or clogged (specifically the graphics vent) and a physical cleaning of the laptop would be my recommendation. YouTube (this for example https/www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP4myeDK-3U ) may be of help there or you may want to take the laptop to a shop for a physical cleaning
